Modular & Compact Clutches and Brakes

Modular & Compact Clutches and Brakes

Narsipur & Sons, is known to produce and supply its high end ranges with precision, our Clutch Brakes Combinations are compact units with mounting methods as per IEC Standards are suitable for direct mounting in motors and gearboxes. They find application in machine tool, food processing, chemical, pharmaceutical industries etc. These units are also available with electrically or mechanically actuated brakes where over running of the parts is not acceptable as in case of reversible drives, variable speed gear boxes etc.

All these Clutches and Brakes operate on 24 volts D.C. Other voltages are available on request.

A range of clutches and brakes can be developed and chosen using the formulas found in Clutches and Brakes.

For every potential brake or clutch arrangement, formulas for the expected torque and the force, pressure, or current needed to obtain it are generated, and their use is then demonstrated through examples.

The provided derivations demonstrated the assumptions succinctly and clearly and also clarified each parameter's function in these regulating connections.

As a result, the designer can select characteristics more precisely to satisfy the demands of the present task.

In addition, heat dissipation, acceleration, and temperature are calculated using clutches and brakes.

Numerous application-specific elements play a role in the decision-making process when it comes to clutches and brakes.

This study aims to examine the operational needs to determine the suitability of a clutch versus a brake.

You will also know when to engage the clutch or brakes and how these tactics work in different situations.

Although the study focuses on dry running applications, it also contains an overview of issues for wet running applications as a reference for the differences between the two modes of operation.

There are two distinct but connected functions that clutches and brakes perform:

A brake stops an object from rotating while a clutch joins two moving parts.

There are numerous clutch arrangement options, including the pulley design and the shaft-to-shaft connection method.

The clutch in a shaft-to-shaft coupling system is in charge of increasing the clutch output shaft's speed to match the input clutch's speed.

There is a shared centre of gravity around which both the input and output shafts rotate. In a pulley-based setup, the clutch's function is to match the pulley's or sprocket's output speed to its input speed.

In this case, there is a discrepancy in the exact alignment of the input and output along a shared axis of rotation, representing two distinct centres of rotation.

Engineers have many possibilities for mounting the fixed brake housing to the non-rotating (stationary) portion of the system, even though there is only one arrangement for brakes.
