Zero-backlash clutches enabling 2-speed EV transmissions and on-demand eAxle disconnect, electronically repeatable clutch-brakes for EV assembly line torque control, and spring-applied parking brakes for electric 2W/3W — proven in production at MTA EMTC, Bosch, and MICO.
MTA EMTC, Palwal and agricultural PTO drive applications are existing PV Industries customers. PV Industries components are validated to Tier-1 automotive assembly standards.
Shifting gear ratios on an electric 2W/3W transmission without torque interruption, levers, or a battery-draining hydraulic system is a core drivetrain challenge. The clutch needs zero-backlash engagement, sub-30ms response, and low coil wattage.
Electromagnetic single disc clutch — energise the coil and the armature snaps onto the friction liner instantly with no backlash; de-energise and the spring releases with zero residual drag. Modular compact range mounts directly to IEC motor flanges.
Single Disc ClutchEvery fastener torque value on an EV battery pack module is safety-critical — undertorque risks thermal events, overtorque creates scrap. Conventional mechanical torque tools drift as friction surfaces wear.
Torque is set by coil current, not spring preload — repeatability is governed by electronics, not friction wear, and stays consistent from cycle 1 to 100,000.
Clutch-Brake CombinationEvery electric 2W/3W needs a parking brake that holds on a gradient at rest. Any design that draws continuously from the battery to hold is unacceptable — the brake must hold on power loss without consuming a watt.
Spring-applied, electrically-released single disc fail-safe brake. Compression spring clamps the armature by default; 24V DC releases for riding; on key-off or power loss, the spring re-engages instantly, preventing rollback.
Safety BrakeDecoupling a motor from the drivetrain when not needed eliminates drag losses and extends range. The clutch must consume negligible power disengaged, respond in under 30ms, and fit the tight 2W/3W powertrain envelope.
Disengaged, the electromagnetic clutch has zero friction, drag, and power draw; engaged, the coil fires in under 30ms and torque transmission begins. IEC compact mounting fits existing 2W/3W powertrain housings without redesign.

What sets PV Industries apart for automotive & ev customers specifically.
MTA EMTC is manufacturing India's first 2-speed automatic EV powertrain for electric 2W and 3W using PV Industries' electromagnetic clutch as the core actuation component — selected for its low power draw, zero-backlash engagement, and 48V EV architecture compatibility. Proven in production, not aspirational.
PV Industries supplies clutch-brake combinations to Bosch Limited and MICO — two of India's most demanding automotive component manufacturers with high-cycle assembly lines where torque consistency is non-negotiable. Tier-1 validation for automotive assembly applications.
European and Japanese clutch suppliers create 8–14 week import lead times that slow EV prototype cycles. PV Industries is Indian-made, INR-priced, locally stocked — no forex risk, no supply chain dependency, with local application engineering support.
Our application engineering team will confirm the right product, torque range, and mounting configuration for your specific requirement.
